Biography

A Native of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada Tom spent his early years travelling throughout the United States, Canada and Germany before setting his sights on his original home on Vancouver Island where he finally settled in Victoria.

Tom went on to study in Nanaimo, where he gained a Visual Arts Diploma, majoring in graphics. He then found his way back to Victoria in 1991 where he now lives with his wife and two children.

A Tla-o-qui-aht band member with over 15 years of experience working in Advertising Agencies and Communications Firms, Tom is now the owner of his own design studio and uses his background and unique skills to bring a strong focus to his art, which is a contemporary reflection of his heritage.

Tom feels that "art is not meant to be a 'means to gratify the artist,' but, rather, a means for the artist to serve his community."
