Welcome to the Art of Lenny de Groot

Lenny learned to knit, needlecraft and sew at an early age. Her work has evolved from traditional quiltmaking to fanciful landscapes and playful abstracts. She is fascinated with fabric dyeing and designing with colours. Currently her creative energies are channelled into fibre art—always experimenting, and having fun.

She is a member of several organizations including the Victoria Quilters Guild (shows and calendar), the Canadian Quilters Association (CQA), the Community Arts Council of the Saanich Peninsula and the Saanich Peninsula Arts and Craft Society. Her work has also appeared in an international magazine called Quilt.

In 2004 and 2005, Lenny was accepted into the National Juried Shows of the CQA. She has participated in annual, regional juried exhibitions, such as the Sidney Fine Art Show and the Sooke Fine Art Show. Her studio, Fiber Art and Vibrant Art Quilts, is open to the public during the Saanich Peninsula Fall Studio Tour and Sale, an annual two-day event, held in October.
