My name is Oeliol (pronounced O-e-li-ol). Yes, I am indeed a Peacock - a proud one at that, and quite unordinary among peacock sculptures. My being slowly came into existence in a unique way, of which I am very proud. (Peacocks are supposed to be proud. You know, "proud as a peacock"? Yes that is me.)

I am proud, most importantly because 95% of me was created from recycled material. My entire bird body from head to toes and tail are sculpted from a variety of used papers including newspapers and cereal boxes. My crest is constructed from hand made paper beads strung on discarded picture hanging wire. My perch is an altered and restored bird cage stand.

So, after around 1200 hours over 11 months of labour and love, here I am standing proudly for you to behold, and hopefully, you feel my spirit that extends its love to each and every one of you.
