This astonishing French ensemble, led by legendary countertenor Dominique Visse, brings to life the chansons of 16th-century France - an extraordinary and utterly compelling repertoire. Nothing like this has ever been heard in Victoria.

Emma Kirkby, without a doubt one of the world's greatest performers of early music, makes her Victoria debut with the sought-after Canadian countertenor, Daniel Taylor. Some of the greatest works of the baroque repertoire are featured, including Pergolesi's Stabat Mater and arias by Bach and Schütz.

Ciaramella
A Shepherd's Christmas

Ciaramella celebrates shepherds and the Christmas music they inspired. With voices and wind instruments (shawm, sackbut, recorder and organ), they'll pipe and sing songs of praise. Robust renaissance carols of England, France and the Low Countries plus the Italian hymn that Handel captured in his Messiah.
