Director's Series: The Museum Revolution, 7:30pm
with Shirley Madill, Director/CEO. The Director's Series consists of a series of presentations that focus on key issues in art and culture. The first in the series, titled The Museum Revolution, looks at major building projects, including expansions and renovations of existing buildings as well as construction of new museums on a global level and their impact on a community. This lecture will be at the Victoria Truth Centre (1201 Fort St). Tickets: $15 | Seniors/Students: $12 | Members: $10

with Keith Wallace. Keith Wallace, independent curator, writer, and editor of Yishu: Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art, will discuss the Iain Baxter& exhibition in the context of photography during the 1960s and 70s and Baxter&'s contribution to the evolution of photoconceptual art in Vancouver.

The Malahat Review at Forty: A Poetry Gala on Robin Skelton's Birthday, 7:30pm
Marking the fortieth anniversary of The Malahat Review, the Art Gallery hosts a gala reading in honour of the magazine's co-founder, Robin Skelton. The gala coincides with what would have been Skelton's eighty-second birthday and brings together some of the poet's most celebrated friends: Robert Bringhurst, Linda Rogers, Derk Wynand, Neile Graham, Harold Rhenisch, Rhonda Batchelor, Joe Rosenblatt, and Marilyn Bowering.

Known for her conscious flow, hiphop artist Eekwol (Lindsay Knight) from Muskoday First Nation in Saskatchewan will be giving an exclusive performance with DJ Mils; local multimedia artist and theorist Jackson 2bears will be on site with an audio/video performance and there will be a screening of the award-winning short-feature Blood River by Kent Monkman.
