On behalf of Capital Arts Festival 2008, we cordially invite you to join us in an autumn celebration of Canadian arts, culture and heritage throughout southern Vancouver Island.
Presented by Heaven-on-Earth Marketing and Image Management Company and in conjunction with a broad range of support from the business community, Capital Arts Festival 2008 (CAF 2008) is administered and produced exclusively as a business organized initiative. Through sponsorships, private arts funding and business equity, our festival is produced without government funding and without non-profit/charitable involvement at the operational level.
With the accomplishment of two successful CAF seasons, this year's event spans the months of October and November and includes member participation from the Capital Regional District (CRD) and the Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD).
CAF 2008 is proud to present a truly unique, cultural experience that unifies practicing professional artists, strengthens the professional arts community and benefits local businesses, our citizens and visitors throughout the CRD and the CVRD.
Take in Capital Arts Festival 2008! Support Canadian arts, culture, and heritage; support our sponsors and local businesses, as well as the many practicing professional artists who live and work in southern Vancouver Island. MEMBER PARTICIPANTS
Exclusive to practicing professional artists who live and work in southern Vancouver Island, CAF 2008 is a showcase of regional professional events - produced by our member participants - in dance, music, literary, performing and visual arts. Member participants are responsible for their own program development and venue procurement, and all members keep 100% of their ticket proceeds and/or sales revenues.
Practicing professional artists have attained a high level of development and achievement in their chosen fields of endeavour, and are recognized for their professionalism and accomplishments within their communities, by their peers and through their affiliations with professional member groups, societies, associations and numerous independent arts businesses.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM
CAPITAL ARTS FESTIVAL 2007
October 1-31
The enthusiasm and spirit of community support of this event by members of the business community has been outstanding! Capital Arts Festival 2007 gratefully acknowledges the generous support from our 21 major sponsors and donators, plus the additional support of more than 600 members of the business community throughout the CRD who helped to make this event possible.
Submitted for your consideration is our summary from last season:
- Comprised 17 member participants with 19 venues and represented more than 750 practicing professional artists.
- Approximately 20,000 people attended the month-long festival.
- Distribution of 20,000 colour venue guides and 1,000 colour posters throughout the CRD and aboard vessels serving BC Ferries Route #1
- Event advertising in Preview, Boulevard, WHERE-Victoria, Focus, Monday Magazine and Black Press' Regional and Daily Newspapers
- October traffic to the event website was 50,876 (daily average was 1,641); for 2007, the visitor count was 253,789.
