BC's 5th Annual Cultural Crawl

Plan an "art-ful" adventure! The 2006 Arts & Cultural Guide to British Columbia is launching their fifth annual Cultural Crawl, a month-long celebration of BC's arts, culture and heritage, which starts on the BC Day long weekend in August.
"The Cultural Crawl is a month-long celebration of the arts and culture in BC, hosted by the artists and business owners in a specific region", explains Trudy Van Dop, publisher of the Arts & Cultural Guide to BC. This event continues to be dedicated to encouraging the celebration of local Arts, Culture & Heritage.
For a complete listing of participants, and ideas on how to explore the province during August, a month of arts & cultural adventures, visit www.art-bc.com. Click on your community of choice and print off the list of attractions in that area. Or browse through the printed guide for ideas on the best places to visit.
The Arts & Cultural Guide to British Columbia is a full-colour, 96-page guide of over 200 art galleries, museums, studios, gardens, heritage and cultural sites in the province of BC. Listings include colour photos, a short description and complete contact information including phone numbers and web site addresses.
The Arts & Cultural Guide is available for free at any BCAA Office, Visitor Information Centre, aboard BC Ferries, at numerous hotels throughout the province and from our participants.

James Bay Art Walk

Twenty-three artists at 15 locations in beautiful James Bay, the community where Emily Carr lived and painted, will hold an ArtWalk studio tour including Emily's home, on September 23 and 24 from 11:00 to 4:00. There will be sculpture, textiles, etchings, wood carvings, photography, and many, many, stunning paintings on display and for sale.
Maps will be posted in James Bay businesses and the local Saturday community market at Superior and Menzies. The map will also be featured in the centre spread of the September issue of the James Bay Beacon community newspaper. People will be asked to watch for "the walking palette".

Parking is limited so if you can please park on the street and walk up the driveway. There is some parking in front of the workshop, and more at the top of the driveway. Watch for the signs.
